The Pocket Smoothie & Detox Tips - Pocket Sport

In need of a rejuvenation? After the year we've had... same. So let's start from the inside out!

Health and wellness guru Karen Koramshai gives her 5 top tips for detoxing the body, and has specially created The Pocket Smoothie to jump start your cleanse.

Tip 1: Hydrate your body – Your body is made up of 70% water and needs arounds six to eight glasses a day in order to stay hydrated and to help flush out the toxins. Add a squeeze of lemon to add an extra detox boost.

Tip 2: Move Your Body- In recent times, it's understandable if your exercise routine has had to take a bit of a back seat. With access to gyms limited, and more and more of us working from home, it's all too easy to fall into sedentary habits. But exercising daily can improve circulation. Exercise promotes detoxification and boost your body’s systems. As you exercise, the blood circulates, providing nutrients to organs and muscles.

Tip 3: Limit Alcohol- 90% of alcohol is metabolised in your liver, so it's really worth giving it a break every now and again. Eliminating this toxin from your liver allows it to function at its best and subsequently filter waste and other toxins from your body. Replace the alcohol with something that will feed your body with goodness and antioxidants. My Pocket Sport Smoothie is full of antioxidants and is a great option to try! (Recipe attached exclusively made for Pocket Sport)

Tip 4: Cut Down on Salt - As water removes toxins naturally from the body, a high salt intake can cause water retention, effectively holding the toxins in. Cut down on the salt, increase your intake of potassium rich foods and drink more water!

Tip 5: Get more sleep- Sleep deprivation contributes to a build up of toxins in the body that can affect your health. Adequate, quality sleep are ingredients for a healthy body that will remove toxic build up.
