Pocket Tries - SPF

Pocket Tries - SPF - Pocket Sport

Whether it's 35 degrees on holiday in Majorca, or cold and cloudy in London, wearing SPF is necessary. It only takes as little as 15 minutes for unprotected skin to be damaged by the sun's UV rays. Cloudy, or not, your skin needs protection. It's the UV rays that do the damage, not the temperature.

Some sunscreen's can be white, chalky, or oily, so it can be difficult to find the best one without ending up with 10 unused tubes in your bathroom cabinet. But don't worry, Team Pocket has done the hard research to rate and review the top sunscreens on the market. So before you go on holiday, or add SPF to your morning skincare routine, take a look at what we've got to say.

First on the docket - La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra-Light Invisible Fluid SPF50+ Sun Cream.

If you're familiar with La Roche-Posay products, you know that they're used by Dermatologists, skincare enthusiasts, newbies and everyone in between. The products are simple, generally fragrance free, and the best part, they work. Their Sunscreen is no different. At first when we opened it up, it poured out quickly as the product is quite runny. But once you know that about it, it's very easy to get used to. Plus, we kind of enjoy pouring it on our faces like Meredith Duxbury pouring concealer in her TikTok videos.

The product is fragrance free for any of those who are sensitive to smells, and it blends into the skin well - no white residue leftover! Lastly, its compact and easy to travel with, sits under makeup well, and doesn't make you break out. All over a terrific product. We are fans!

Murad City Skin Age Defence Broad Spectrum SPF 50 / PA+++

Here at Pocket, we're big fans of Murad. So adding their top SPF products into our skincare routines was an easy task. We tried their City Skin Age Defence facial suncream. It comes out in a nice creamy consistency, and its slightly tinted to a nude peach colour. But once you apply it and rub it in, it seeps into the skin and no leftover colour or white cream is left. It's almost fragrance free - it does have a slight fresh scent to it, but it isn't overwhelming. The bottle is small and sleek, also doesn't break you out, and the best part - it's PETA certified!

Team Pocket Rating - 8.5

We are feel good inc. - Sunscreen Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 50+

This was a new brand for us, coming all the way from Australia, and developed by a skin cancer doctor and his best friend, a surfer (who then rigorously tested it in the waves!). Knowing the sun and surf culture in Australia, we had high hopes and we were not let down! First thing we noticed was the delicious sunscreen scent - you know the one. It took us right back to our childhood. It's a thicker product but after reading the back of the tube, it seems like this is for your full body and not the face. Rubbing it in was easy and it seeped into the skin well. All around, it is a great sunscreen for the body. We also tried their Coconut sunscreen and sensitive sunscreen lotions. The coconut is perfect for those who don't like the smell of sunscreen and want something more tropical, and the sensitive is perfect for people with sensitive skins, expectant mums and children over 6 months. We loved all 3 and will definitely be taking these on holiday with us!

Team Pocket Rating - 9.5

After testing each of these 3 SPF brands, we would actually highly recommend them all! The first two for the face, and the third for body. But ultimately, the most important part and biggest take-away from testing these, was that we got into the habit of adding SPF to our everyday routines. A win-win!
