A 'post-workout' skin care routine with Bybi Beauty

Working out is obviously extremely beneficial for both our mental and physical wellbeing, but what about or skin? With all of that sweating, is it making it better or worse?

Depending on your choice of exercise, you could be going to the gym, working out from home, or going outdoors. In these environments, we could be interacting with equipment, abrasive towels, polluted air, and bacteria on our hands. Whether we think we're doing it our not, we are touching our sweaty faces and all of that bacteria is seeping right into our pores.

Though what we should focus on while exercising is not about all of the bacteria forming on our faces, afterwards the most important thing to do is clean your skin and prep it for the rest of the day.

We have teamed up with Bybi Beauty and content creator Karen Haeli to create a 3 step 'post-workout' skincare routine for everyday.

The 'Post-Workout' Skin Care routine

1. Crystal Clear Facial Gel Cleanser

A combination of powerful antimicrobial and antiseptic ingredients, including rosemary and cypress, help to break down dirt, grime and oil (and smell like a minty forest). Your skin feels truly cleansed and clear but not stripped.
Salicylic acid, a BHA derived from white willow bark, breaks down congestion and deeply penetrates pores. This helps to unclog and reduce the appearance of pores and blackheads while minimising breakouts.
Inulin, a prebiotic derived from chicory root, feeds the microorganisms (aka good bacteria) on your face, balancing and protecting your skin’s microbiome. This is crucial for truly balanced complexions. You’ll see clean, clear skin without dryness or tightness.

2. C-Caf Cream

C-Caf has a double vitamin C formula, from kakadu plum and ascorbyl glucoside, brightening dull skin and improving the look of hyperpigmentation, scars and uneven skin tone. Caffeine is a diuretic which reduces morning puffiness, helping tired skin to look smooth and fresh.
A buttery combination of shea, glycerin and squalane means that C-Caf glides onto skin smoothly and absorbs easily, increasing natural hydration levels. Your skin feels soft, dewy and glowing.
Matcha (green tea) extract is incredibly high in antioxidants, which help to repair your skin from the effects of pollution and UV rays. This also boosts your skin’s regeneration process, giving it a smooth, bouncy feel.

3.  CBD Booster

With proven soothing benefits, cannabidiol (CBD) helps to treat areas of inflammation including blemishes, breakouts and spots. With powerful skin-soothing properties, but no THC, it will leave angry skin feeling calm and relaxed.
CBD has also been shown to help reduce areas of redness, leaving skin looking even in tone with less visible signs of irritation.
Combined with pure hemp seed oil, a non comedogenic ingredient meaning that whilst it’s a great skin-softener, it won’t clog pores and can actually help to regulate your skin’s sebum (natural oil) production. For oilier skin you’ll get a moisture hit without leading to further breakouts and skin will feel balanced.

Whether it's 35 degrees on holiday in Majorca, or cold and cloudy in London, wearing SPF is necessary. It only takes as little as 15 minutes for unprotected skin to be damaged by the sun's UV rays. Some sunscreen's can be white, chalky, or oily, so it can be difficult to find the best one without ending up with 10 unused tubes in your bathroom cabinet. But don't worry, Team Pocket has done the hard research to rate and review the top sunscreens on the market. So before you go on holiday, or add SPF to your morning skincare routine, take a look at what we've got to say.
